Where I Get Mockups For My Surface Designs

After I’ve created a collection of art, I love mocking up my surface designs onto products like fabric, notebooks, greeting cards, baby clothing and more. Mockups bring life to my designs and help bring proof of concept to my portfolio. Mocking up your surface designs can really help if you’re pitching to potential clients or have an idea for a product line. If you’re wondering where I get my mock ups see below!

  1. creative market

I love Creative Market for all of my graphic resources. They often have some free mockups in their monthly freebies but most often I purchase mockups. Some of my favorite are from Creatsy5. Creative Market’s mockups are most of the time editable and user friendly. Make sure to check the description of the mock up you purchase to make sure it meets your needs.

    COST RANGE: $7-$1k

  2. freepik

There are lots of free mockups on Freepik however I will say that most of the time if you are downloading a free mockup it may not be as editable or user friendly. I have downloaded mockup files for PSD where it was a blank image and it didn’t skew and adjust a piece of artwork from a smart object like some of the premium mockups I’ve purchased.

    COST RANGE: FREE

  3. mockup worlD

Mockup World has a TON of photorealistic free mockups that are very different than most. They hand picked mockups from designers & agencies worldwide with a range from stationery to billboards. When you go to download a mockup it will take you to the creator’s site to download which sometimes has an option for a tip. But all mockups are free on this site.

    COST RANGE: FREE

  4. designcuts

Designcuts is very similar to Creative Market. They have a wide range of creative resources available for purchase and sometimes have freebies. However I haven’t seen any mockups as freebies for Designcuts. Their mockups are located under templates where you can find a mix of templates for instance templates for brand guidelines as well as photo realistic mockups. They don’t have as many options for product and surface design but sometimes they have mockups I haven’t seen elsewhere.

    COST RANGE: $2-$147
